Ripperana is an independently-minded periodical about the Jack the Ripper (Whitechapel) Murders of 1888. It has been since April 1992 on a quarterly basis (every 3 months) mostly in an A5 illustrated format. The magazine remains resolutely independent, with no affiliations to societies, authors or pressure groups.
Ripperana publishes research articles, observations and comments about the JTR Murders. It also covers the comparative criminology of other unsolved and mysterious murders, both because this sheds light on the JTR murders themselves, but also because it illuminates the mythic status of the crimes. To some minds, for example, the Moors Murders, famously considered "mythic" by Ian Brady, remain officially unsolved.
